How do I use the Profile Adjustments in other software, i.e. HCFR

Download the colour matrix tool from here

Using the downloaded tool – Copy the ‘REFERENCE’ numbers into reference meter data in Calman and ‘FIELD’ meter xy to target meter. Because your data only include xy you need input ‘1’ in the ‘Y’ data column. This will generate the required XYZ.

Open HCFR ‘Agryll Meter Property Page’ – ‘Sensor Matrix’ input Calman’s XYZ results.

I am experiencing some issues with autocal, how do I fix this?

This be caused by some old information being retained by older versions in the windows history, so follow these steps to clean the install:

1. Uninstall CP.
2. Delete this file
C:/ProgramData/Display Calibrations LLC/ChromaPure/2/ChromaPure.config
(If you don’t see the ProgramData folder, that’s because it is hidden. To expose it, Control Panel, Folder Options, View, check “Show hidden files, folders, and drives”. Then click OK. Now it will be visible.)
3. Repair Microsoft .Net Framework (Control Panel, Programs and Features, double-click Microsoft .Net Framework, and select the Repair option).
In Windows 8 you need to download the repair tool here.
A reboot may be required.
4. Reinstall CP.
5. If you are using a signal generator, you will have to set it up again in CP from scratch (use a Com port of 4 or higher). Click Options, Signal Generator.

A useful tool for keeping a windows install working efficiently is CCleaner found here.

Is my ChromaPure license transferable?

Yes and No. Yes in the sense that you are free to sell your copy to someone else if you like. However, “no” in the sense that it will still only function with the meter(s) it is licensed for. If you wish to transfer a fully functional version, it must be bundled with the licensed meter. If the transferred party wishes to add additional meter support, then he or she must purchase another standard license at the full price.

Is there a full list of items required to calibrate a display?

Aside from ChromaPure Calibration Software (available here which is installed and run on a windows based PC/Laptop, you will also need:

– A meter i.e. i1 Display pro (available here with or without the ChromaPure Calibration Software)

– Patterns that the meter will need to measure, this can be generated from the PC output (make sure the HDMI output is outputting the correct levels and colourspace), a dedicated pattern generator (Accupel, Murideo), or test disc(s). Please note HDR patterns are very different to SDR patterns, so you may need multiple test pattern sources.

– A tripod for the meter, if being used to calibrate a projector, or a TV where direct contact is not possible/recommended

– A USB extension lead, if the meter cord is not long enough to reach the PC/Laptop.
